This crop circle from July 1st is making me crazy. It reminds me of something, that I can't quite place...

What could it be?

Some feelings I have: an electrical universe model, plans for some sort of machine or device, a space ship, writing...?

The imaginitive design of several undergraduates with too much free time on their hands perhaps...

Possibly. Regardless of the designer I don't think it's just a random design, pretty sure there's a coded message here. I'd love to know what the message is.
