some beliefs about 2012:
1--the earth moves through the galactic plane, triggering a massive pole shift whereby the earth swiftly stops rotating, wobbles, and then begins its spin in the opposite direction. Some predict only the inanimate objects on the planet will survive this;
2--the Mayan "long-count" calendar ends, meaning time (and life) as we know ceases to exist;
3--the 10th planet, Nibiru, on a 26000 year elliptical orbit, will reenter the solar system, passing so close to the earth that the gravitational waves made by its passing will create en extinction-level event on the planet;
4--the consciousness level of humanity will be raised from the global level to the universal level, meaning either we will gain buddha-like enlightenment, or our extraterrestrial neighbours will fully and unambiguously reveal their presence to us;
5--the idea of nations and national identities, the idea of distinct cultures based on broadly-shared noble concepts like harmony and commonwealth will be destroyed by the bulldozers erecting the global one-world new order;
6--something we have no idea of, can only guess at, and may not cause any perceptible change in the world until historians look back across the centuries to this time and retroactively name 2012 as the date real evolutionary and social change first began, a change completely unnoticed by a world glued to their ipods and computers, their video games and internet porn.
Will the earth's electro-magnetic field be disrupted and the post-industrial revolution throw us back to the stone age? Will the increased solar activity--which has been responsible for climate change not only on this planet but also on ALL the other planets in our solar system--cause such fierce meteorological activity that all life but the hardiest of insects will be forced into extinction?
